It's a small group soft adventure guided day tour to Litchfield
National Park
All in a day see towering termite mounds to prinisitnes water
cassades, water rockholes to Springs feed year round flowing waterfalls
in Litchfield National Park.

Have only one day spare and want to see Darwin's hidden secret.
Group participation makes up a lot of this trip, so you'll be
required to help with preparation of meals and cleaning up. These
are the kind of tasks that bring a group closer together.
Day 1: Darwin to Litchfield returning to Darwin
Day 1 (Lunch)
Departing from Alice Springs at approximately 6 .00 am, our adventure
begins as we travel towards the mighty West MacDonnell Ranges .
Our first stop is Ormiston Gorge, keep your eyes peeled for Perentie
Lizards lazing along the banks and take a swim in the rock holes.
Hike the Ghost Gum Walk, a 1.5 hour loop that takes in views down
through the majestic Ormiston Gorge, before following the trail
as it descends down close to the gorge and along the rocky floor
and Ormiston Waterhole. Enjoy a BBQ lunch at Ormiston Gorge. Af
terwards, w e journey on to the Ochre Pits, a registered sacred
site offering a unique experience to view the Ochre deposit still
used to this day by the Traditional owners. See the natural ochres
that have provided materials for Indigenous people for thous ands
of years. Travelling on to Ellery Creek Big Hole, one of the most
picturesque swimming and walking spots in the West MacDonnell Ranges.
Surrounded by high red cliffs and the sandy Ellery Creek, the waterhole
has been carved out by thousands of years of massive floods and
is an internationally significant geological site. The permanent
water here made it a special meeting place for the local Arrernte
people and is known to them as Udepata. Late in the afternoon we
travel back to Alice Springs, arriving at approximately 5.30pm.

Booked and paid E-Ticket, Wide brimmed hat, sunscreen, insect
repellent, water bottle (1.5 litres), walking shoes/boots, swim
wear, towel and camera.

are have any special dietary needs or allergies, please contact
us to discuss this at time of booking as you may need to provide
your own supplementary food/ snacks depending on your specific dietary
need or allergy.

foods are not easily available and therefore cannot accommodate
all dietary requests. At times, produce and products may be substituted
as supply dictates and Wayoutback cannot guarantee the ingredients
contained in these alternatives. Whilst all of our guides are trained
in remote touring, they are not nutritionists and neither they nor
Wayoutback Australian Safaris can advise of all ingredients contained
in each food served on tour and are not responsible should an allergic
reaction occur.
If you have any allergies, please carry the necessary medication.
Many dietary requirements are catered for in our standard menus.

Itinerary may change due to cultural reasons, seasonal changes,
operational logistics and accessibility.
Due to limited space on the vehicle please restrict luggage to
a day pack (maximum 10kg). Excess luggage should be stored at your
accommodation.
Children
Safari is not suitable for children under 5 years of age.
Travel Insurance - Travel Insurance is highly recommended.
Travel insurance is compulsory for all international travellers
and should be taken out at the time of booking. We recommend Australian
citizens take out a domestic travel insurance policy which covers
personal liability, cancellation, curtailment and loss of luggage
and personal effects.

The default pick up point is where we will meet you for your tour,
unless you or your travel agent requests an alternative location
(contact our Reservations team for more information). It is your
responsibility to contact us with your preferred pick up point well
ahead of departure. We do not take responsibility for missed tours
if we have not been advised of an alternative in advance and you
are not at the default location on time.

A STRICT luggage limit of day pack only 10kg applies. Please limit
to one small to medium sized soft bag or backpack and a small daypack,
which can be carried inside the vehicle.
Fitness Level: 1 out of 5: Leisurely paced day trips. Minimal physical
exertion required.
Maximum Walks: Hikes up to 1-3kms per day. A reasonable level of
fitness is required as there will be some walking to view places
of interest. Suitable for soft adventures with a passion for bushwalking
and exploring. Passengers must be reseaonably fit and active.
